Lady Gaga performed in Paris 2024 Olympics opening ceremony
The opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics has been groundbreaking in both its scale and ambition. Instead of being conducted inside a stadium, this year’s opening ceremony became the first in Olympic history to be conducted in an outdoor location.
The opening ceremony included 106 boats – including the one carrying the Indian contingent – as athletes from all over the world waved their flags in Paris. The countries descended down the Parisian river in the French alphabetical order.
The opening act of the ceremony involved the pop star, Lady Gaga, who sang a rendition of French singer Zizi Jeanmarie’s song “Mon Truc En Plumes." The mesmerising act, which involved the singer being surrounded by large pink feathers, took place on a flight of stairs along the Seine.
The Paris 2024 Olympics opening ceremony has been headed by the French artistic director Thomas Jolly.
