[Watch] Javelin thrower Kishore Jena practices in Poland ahead of Paris 2024 Olympics
With the Paris 2024 Olympics set to start on July 26, India’s javelin throw star Kishore Jena is sweating it out at the Olympic Sports Center in Spala, Poland.
In a video shared on social media by Mansukh Mandiya, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Kishore Jena can be seen practicing his javelin throw, as well as hurdle jumping, in Poland.

Kishore Jena gears up for Paris 2024 Olympics with Poland training
Jena, 28, became a household name after winning a silver medal at the 2022 Asian Games, where he recorded a personal best throw of 87.54 metres. Like most members of India’s 29-member athletics contingent, he has been training abroad before the start of the upcoming Olympic Games.
Kishore Jena, along with Tokyo 2020 Olympics gold medalist Neeraj Chopra, will represent India at the Paris 2024 Olympics men’s javelin throw event. 2022 Asian Games gold medalist Annu Rani will take part in the women’s event.
Other than Jena and Annu Rani, shot put athletes Tajinderpal Singh Toor and Abha Khatua, hurdler Jyothi Yarraji, long jumper Jeswin Aldrin, and triple jumper Praveen Chithravel have also been training at Spala, Poland.
Meanwhile, Neeraj Chopra is presently based at the Gloria Sports Arena in Turkey’s Antalya city. Several members of the contingent are also training at St Moritz in Switzerland.
The entire athletics contingent is supposed to convene at the Paris 2024 Olympics village on July 28, according to chief coach Radhakrishnan Nair as per PTI.
The athletics events of the Paris 2024 Olympics will start on August 1 and will end on August 11.
