Manu Bhaker, Sarabjot Singh recover from heartbreaks

Manu and Sarabjot have had their fair share of trouble before they eventually tasted success. Back in 2020 Tokyo Olympics, she was a victim to an unfortunate incident when her pistol malfunctioned. Manu revealed that she felt like quitting shooting after the incident, as it felt like a ‘9 to 5 job’ to her.

However, instead of giving up, Manu kept putting in the hard yards and her efforts eventually paid dividends. She ended India’s 12-year-long wait for an Olympic medal after London 2012 and became the second Indian woman after PV Sindhu to win multiple medals in the Olympics.

On Saturday, Sarabjot could not qualify for the final of the 10m Air Pistol event. Among the 33 shooters, he had a score of 577-16x and finished ninth, one spot below the ones who advanced to the final of the event.

However, he recovered from the disappointment and came up trumps in the mixed team event.

As far as Manu is concerned, after showing her class in the 10m Air Pistol event, the youngster will ply her trade in the 25m pistol event.
