[WATCH] USA Artistic Swimming team performs to AR Rahman's song at Paris Olympics 2024
The USA’s women’s artistic swimming team impressed the crowd with their performance to Academy Award-winning music composer AR Rahman’s hit track 'Taal Se Taal' at the Paris Olympics 2024.
Team USA performed to the same Bollywood classic at the World Aquatics Championships in Doha in February 2024. They stole the limelight after putting up a performance to the same song in Paris, capturing the attention of everyone.
The women’s team perfectly synced to the tunes of the musical track composed by AR Rahman of India. The song was part of the 1999 Bollywood movie 'Taal,' directed by Subhash Ghai. The official video of the song has received more than 10 crore views on YouTube.
Furthermore, the USA women’s artistic swimming team’s performance was uploaded on the Olympics’ official YouTube channel on Wednesday, August 7. The video was captioned:
“The USA artistic swimming team performed their free routine set to the Bollywood hit song 'Taal Se Taal.'”

Taal movie director Subhash Ghai reacted to USA's women’s artistic swimming team's performance in Doha
After the USA women’s artistic swimming team caught the attention of the Indians at the 2024 World Aquatics in Doha, the video went viral on the internet, which led to a reaction from the director of the movie 'Taal.'

AR Rahman had also shared the video on Instagram. The video received close to 1 million views with 40,000 likes on Instagram.
At the Paris Olympics 2024, the USA women's team scored a total of 914.3421 points, including 282.7567 in technical routine and 360.2688 in free routine, to take the silver medal in the team free routine event. China bagged the top spot with a total points of 996.1389. Spain settled for the third spot with 900.7319 points.
Rahman composed the famous soundtrack, the lyrics of which were penned by Anand Bakshi. The album became a massive commercial success, earning the title of the 'Best-Selling Album of the Year.'
