Where is the Olympic Village in Paris?
The Olympic Village has finally been revealed. It is spread across 134 acres of land based in Saint-Denis. The location is 6 miles from Paris where the Olympics is taking place. The organizing committee of the Paris Olympics have assured that the players will get the best of the facilities at the Olympic Village and the experience of a lifetime.
The Olympic Village is designed after a discussion with a group of athletes. Athletes from 5 different continents got the opportunity to share their thoughts on how they wanted their village to be. Athletes’ Commission of Paris 2024 designed a manifesto that compiled the ideas of this group of athletes and their demands for the village.
The village is spread across three cities - Saint-Denis, Saint Ouen, and L'Île-Saint-Denis. It has the facility to accommodate 14,250 athletes during Paris Olympics 2024 and 8,000 during the Paralympic Games.
Around 60000 meals will be served every day in the village and a 24-hour medical clinic is available in the village in case of an emergency.
The design of the village was made taking into consideration its future aspects. Once the Olympics are over, the village will have more than 2500 homes, one student residence, a hotel, and more than 7 hectares of gardens and parks.
Paris 2024 Olympic Village - A City of Future
The newly made Olympic Village in Paris is designed with the latest technology keeping in mind that it will be used by the locals once the Olympics come to an end.
As per the vision of the organizing committee, they have delivered the promise of low-carbon Games and sound financial stewardship. These were the two primary points on which Paris won the bid for the Olympics.
According to reports, the village will meet the requirements of Paris 2024 and SOLIDEO in terms of environmental excellence. The primary goal of designing the village was to have a neighborhood that reflects urban spaces.
The village is expected to protect and build biodiversity. Houses are built with rooftops to protect the athletes from insects and birds, it also has small openings for animals to pass through. The authorities have taken care of every aspect of climate change and it is built with organically sourced products.
