Aditi Ashok made her Olympic debut in Rio in 2016 and now she is all set to appear on the big stage for the third consecutive time in Paris. Born in Bangalore, Aditi has a long association with golf.
She started playing the sport at the age of five. Considering her inclination towards the sport, her parents made her join the Karnataka Golf Association driving range in Bangalore. Her journey to excel in the sport started from there and since then, Aditi has never looked back.
Aditi's first competition was the Asia Pacific Invitation tournament when she was 12. However, her first achievement as a professional golfer came at the age of 13 when she won the National Junior Championship. Aditi won the National Junior Championship for three consecutive years and dominated the tournament.
She also became the first Indian golfer to play in the Asian Youth Games of 2013, the Youth Olympics, and the Asian Games in 2014. It was in 2015 that Aditi became a pro when she won the Ladies British Amateur Stroke Play Championship.
The year 2016 was a big one for Aditi because of two reasons. She was part of some of the biggest golf tournaments and also made her Olympics debut at Rio in 2016. However, she finished 41st place in the Rio Olympics.
However, in her second appearance at the Olympics in Tokyo, Aditi finished fourth with a score of 269 and 15-under par. She was just 2 shots behind the gold medalist Nelly Korda of the United States.

Her primary rival in the Summer Olympics will be Nelly Korda - against whom Aditi had a close finish in the previous edition of the Olympics.
