Who is Sarabjot Singh? All you need to know about the Indian pistol shooter competing at the Paris Olympics 2024
Sarabjot Singh, India’s young sensation at the Paris 2024 Olympics, is gearing to showcase his pistol shooting skills. In 2023, Sarabjot secured a maiden Olympic quota for himself and India in the pistol shooting category. It came on the back of a solid bronze medal performance in the 15th Asian Shooting Championship in 2023 in South Korea.
The 23-year-old had also won the gold medal in the 10m air pistol event at the 2023 ISSF World Cup in Bhopal. Leading into the Summer Games, Sarabjot boosted his confidence with the coveted gold at the ISSF World Cup 2024 Munich in the 10m air pistol event.
Hailing from Ambala in Punjab, Sarabjot Singh, who belongs to a family of farmers, comes across as a very mature athlete. He is renowned as an athlete who keeps himself grounded regardless of what he achieves in the sport. His self-confidence is a big reason for many pundits to have pinned hopes on the athlete for a podium finish.

Besides being an avid car lover, Sarabjot also has plenty of medals in his cabinet, boasting of his pedigree as a shooter. The athlete first announced himself with a gold at the 2019 junior World Championship.
He then went on to win a team gold at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou. He also won an individual bronze at the 2023 Asian Championships.
India’s shooting contingent had failed to win a medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and will be relying heavily on the likes of Sarabjot. The 21-member shooting squad will be competing in the shooting events which begin on July 27 in Paris.
Sarabjot Singh would be competing in the 10m air pistol event and 10m air pistol mixed team. The shooter will be seen in action in the 10m air pistol men’s qualification on July 27.
