Why is angle for shooting not available for stream in Paris Olympics 2024?
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has introduced a rule that does not allow streaming of a proper angle in shooting in the Olympics. The Paris Olympics 2024 is currently taking place and the law applies to all the events involving shooters in the men’s and women’s category. Streaming from all angles is not available because the IOC prohibits the carrying of cameras on the competition grounds.
The events at the quadrennial event in Paris began with the mixed 10-meter air pistol qualification round. The other events on Saturday are the qualification of the men’s and the 10-metre air pistol, and the final of the mixed 10-metre air rifle.
India falter in shooting early in Paris Olympics 2024?
Indian shooters did not make the best start to their campaign in the Paris Olympics 2024 after failing to qualify for the final of the mixed team events in the 10-meter air rifle.
The pair of Sandeep Singh and Valarivan Elavenil finished 12th. The duo of Ramita and Arjun Babuta, on the other hand, finished sixth. China went on to become the first team to bag the gold medal in Paris 2024 after they beat South Korea 16-12 in the final of the same event.
Kazakhstan won the bronze medal with a comprehensive 17-5 win over Germany in the third-place playoff match.
As far as India are concerned, they will have a chance to make amends in other events. The onus will be on the likes of Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh, and others to bring home medals.
India are yet to win a medal since the 2012 London Olympics. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore was the first to win an Olympic medal for India in shooting in 2004. Four years later in 2008, Abhinav Bindra made history by claiming India’s maiden gold medal in shooting at Beijing.
