Will Sumit Nagal, Rohan Bopanna and N Sriram Balaji play today? Weather forecast for Roland Garros, Paris

Rain has played spoilsport in quite a few matches so far in Paris Olympics 2024. Rohan Bopanna and N Sriram Balaji were scheduled to face the French pair of Edouard Roger-Vasselin and Gael Monfils on Saturday (July 27), but the match had to be canceled due to heavy rain at the venue. Due to Court 12 not having a roof, the organizers couldn't conduct the match.

The Indian duo is now set to play the match in the opening round on Sunday, July 28. Apart from Balaji and Bopanna in doubles, Sumit Nagal is also scheduled to start his campaign in men’s singles on Sunday at Roland Garros.

Nagal will be up against Frenchman Corentin Moutet as he gets set to participate in his second Olympics after Tokyo where he crashed out in the second round.

But the question of whether the inclement weather in Paris will allow the matches to take place remains. Players have reasons to cheer as there is no chance of rain as of now in Paris.

As per Accuweather, conditions will be mostly sunny with ‘excellent’ air quality. Temperatures will be around 22 and 24 degrees Celsius. There will be intermittent clouds, but they are unlikely to threaten. The humidity will be in the 40s and 50s.

History beckons for Rohan Bopanna, Sumit Nagal, N Sriram Balaji in the Paris Olympics

Rohan Bopanna, Sumit Nagal and N Sriram Balaji are the only three participants for India in tennis at the Olympics. No Indian has won a medal in tennis since Leander Paes won bronze in men's singles at the 1996 Atlanta Games.

Hence, the trio has their task cut out against some of the world’s best in the ongoing quadrennial event. Bopanna and Nagal have been top-notch throughout 2024 and would be hoping to add another feather to their hat with an Olympic medal.
