"You both showed brilliant teamwork" - PM Narendra Modi congratulates Sarabjot Singh on call after Paris Olympics bronze medal
On July 30, 2024, Sarabjot Singh and Manu Bhaker earned India's second medal in the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024. The pair won a bronze in the mixed team 10m air pistol event, defeating South Korea in the process. Fans and top personalities from across India congratulated the pair, and among them was India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
A few days back, when Manu Bhaker won an individual bronze in the women's 10m air pistol event, the Indian PM called her up to share his compliments. On Tuesday, after Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh's heroics in the mixed team event, PM Modi once again did the same, this time calling up the latter to congratulate him.
However, the Prime Minister also enquired Sarabjot Singh of the reason behind the duo's success. He said:
"Many many congratulations to you. You have made India proud. Your efforts have paid off. Extend my wishes to Manu as well. You missed out in the individual event by a very low margin. Yours and Manu's pairing has showed brilliant teamwork. What is the reason behind it?"
Sarabjot Singh in reply said:
"Since 2019, we paired in the nationals and other tournaments. The experience was really good, and I hope to perform better the next time."

Indian shooters shine at the Paris Olympics 2024
Manu Bhaker has been the talk of the town for the Indian contingent till now. She has already won two bronze medals, one in an individual event and the other as a team. She still has one more event left (women's 25m air pistol) and fans can expect another medal from the 22-year-old.
Apart from them, Arjun Babuta also registered a top-notch performance in the 10m air rifle discipline. However, his efforts were a bit short as he ended fourth and missed out on a podium finish by a whisker.
