Indian pistol shooter Manu Bhaker took to Instagram to pen a heartfelt note for her fans and well-wishers as she bid adieu to the Paris Olympics 2024. Notably, she secured two bronze medals to achieve a historic feat.
Manu stated that winning two medals in a single edition of the Olympics was a dream come true moment. She dedicated her achievement to everyone who believed in her and supported her throughout her career so far.
“I am extremely overwhelmed by the support and wishes that have been coming in. Winning 2 bronze medals in a single edition of Olympics is a dream come true. This achievement is not just mine but belongs to everyone who has believed in me and supported me along the way. I couldn’t have done it without the unwavering support of everyone. Competing and performing at the biggest stage for my country is a moment of immense pride and joy,” she wrote.

Manu Bhaker's landmark achievement at the Paris Olympics 2024
Manu Bhaker scripted history by becoming the first Indian female athlete to bag two medals in a single edition of the Olympics.
She started her campaign with a bronze medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event, emerging as the first female shooter from India to secure a medal at the Games. Later, she secured another bronze medal in the mixed 10m air pistol team event partnering with Sarabjot Singh.
Additionally, she secured the gold medal at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China in the women’s 25m pistol team event. Moreover, she clinched the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in 2018 in the women’s 10m air pistol event.
Earlier at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, Manu Bhaker failed to make it to the finals in both 10m and 25m air pistol events despite putting up a decent show after equipment failure.
