Paris 2024 Olympics Medal Tally: Where will India finish in the table?
Paris 2024 Olympics is about to go on the floor. Every participating country will be waiting for their athletes to finish at the top and add to the medal tally for the country. India has sent 117 athletes this year with hopes of getting better results than the Tokyo Olympics.
During the Tokyo Olympics, India finished 48th on the list with a total of seven medals - which was a much better performance than the Rio Olympics 2016.
This year at the Paris 2024 Olympics, India will again look forward to improving the medal tally. Neeraj Chopra was the highlight for the country in the previous edition as he won the only gold for India.
He is again in the spotlight because of his fabulous performance in recent competitions. Chopra will be defending his gold in the Paris Olympics 2024.
The projections from Nielsen's Gracenote have been released and Indian athletes have not found their place in the top 30 countries. According to the report, the United States of America will lead the table with a medal tally of 112 medals.
The country will win 39 gold, 32 silver, and 41 bronze. China is expected to be following the USA in the medal tally.
India has not been mentioned in the list. However, India has some bright stars on their list like Neeraj Chopra, Nikhat Zareen, PV Sindhu, and India's men's hockey team.
Some debutants are also expected to reach the podium. India is expected to finish in the list better than the previous medal tally and might reach close to the 30th spot.
India's Probable Medal Winners in the Paris 2024 Olympics
The Paris Olympics will see multiple stars from India who will be standing on the podium. Neeraj Chopra is expected to be the biggest star in the country. He is capable of making history for the country by winning two consecutive gold medals in the Olympics.
It won't be an easy task but his recent performance has been fabulous and Chopra is expected to continue his rhythm at the big stage.
Paris 2024 Olympics will also see India's Badminton star PV Sindhu at the podium. She has been a consistent performer for India in the Olympics since 2016. Sindhu will be eyeing a gold this year but performance has been good enough to at least take her to the podium.
Nikhat Zareen in Boxing and Vinesh Phogat in wrestling are the two new names who have emerged as medal contenders for India. Zareen is making her debut at the Olympics and a positive outcome will bring in a bright future for the boxer.
Vinesh Phogat is appearing in the Olympics for the second time and a strong finish at the Paris 2024 Olympics is expected of her.
