Paris Olympics 2024 Badminton Points Table: Mixed Doubles updated standings after July 28
Initially, a total of 12 teams were taking part in the mixed doubles event at the Paris Olympics 2024. However, the Denmark pair Mathias Christiansen and Alexandra Boeje pulled out in the last minute. As a result, 11 teams are competing for the eight spots in the quarter-final.
Let’s take a look at the mixed doubles standings in the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024 after Sunday, July 28.
Group A
Shifting to Group A standings, the Chinese pair Wei Si Zheng and Qiong Huang bagged two consecutive wins and are standing on top of the table with a points difference of 38.
The Indonesian pair of Rinov Rivaldy and Pitha Haningtyas Mentari are at the second rank with one win and a loss, picking up -32 points difference. South Korea also bagged a win and suffered a loss to stand at the third rank. The French pair stood at the fourth rank after playing two games.
Group B
The South Korean pair of Seung Jae and Yu Jung are topping the standings in Group B with two consecutive wins, picking up a points difference of 39. On the other hand, the Thai pair of Dechapol and Sapisree are holding the second rank with two successive wins.
Meanwhile, Netherlands pair Robin Tabeling and Selena Piek suffered two consecutive losses to settle for the third rank while Algerian pair Koceila and Violette were carrying the wooden spoon.
Group C
In Group C, Japan pair Yuta and Arisa are standing on top with a win, bagging a points difference of 15. Hong Kong pair Chun Man and Ying Suet are at the second rank, picking up a points difference of 16.
Regrettably, the Chinese Taipei pair Ye Hong Wei and Lee Chia Hsin are occupying the third rank with two consecutive losses while Denmark pair pulled out of the campaign.
Group D
The Chinese pair Yan Zhe and Dong Ping are at the top of the points table in Group D with a points difference of 29. Malaysian pair Tang Jie and Ee Wei are occupying the second rank with a points difference of 19.
Singapore and USA are holding the third and fourth ranks after suffering two consecutive defeats.
How does qualification work in mixed doubles?
A total of 16 teams are participating in the mixed doubles event, divided into four groups of four teams each. However, the Denmark pair pulled out of the campaign at the last minute. The top two teams from each group will move to the quarter-finals.
