Saumya Sachdeva sets new record at 58th Delhi State Swimming Championship

Saumya Sachdeva created a new meet record in the Under-14 50-meter backstroke event at the Delhi State Swimming Championship. She completed the race in 34.26 seconds to set a new record and clinch the gold medal in the event.

The previous meet record in the Under-14 50-meter backstroke event was 34.32 seconds. Saumya also won a gold medal in the Under-14 200-meter freestyle race.

The 58th edition of the Delhi State Swimming Championship was held at the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Swimming Pool Complex from July 14 (Sunday) to 16 (Tuesday).

A total of 750 swimmers from Delhi competed in the three-day tournament. Multiple athletes from various institutes competed in the competition across various disciplines for different age categories.

The various disciplines in the competition were:

4. 200-meter butterfly

21. 400-meter backstroke
