2015 Shanghai Masters final: Novak Djokovic completes the job with a straight sets win
World No.1 and top seed Novak Djokovic clinched his third Shanghai Masters title on Sunday after beating 16th seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-2 6-4 in just over an hour and 20 minutes on Sunday.
The opening set saw the Serb get off to a rapid start as he raced away to a 3-0 lead, that included two service breaks in the first and third games before Tsonga got his first break of the match. But the 10-time Grand Slam champion continued to dominate proceedings and eventually sealed the set 6-2.
The second set proved to be a slightly closer affair as both players found it difficult to gert the break of serve until the Frenchman broke his opponent’s serve in the 7th game to go 4-3 up. But the vital turn in the match arrived at the 4-4 mark, when after three straight deuce Tsonga served a critical double fault that gave Djokovic the important break to go 5-4 up.
He made full use of the lead and won from his next service game to seal the set and the match 6-4 to win the title.
