Andy Murray fails in the NBA half-court challenge
World No. 3 Andy Murray took some time off to take part in the NBA half-court challenge. It wasn’t a good outing for the Scot as he missed all of his five chances.
Murray did come close on one occasion, but never looked like scoring from 47 feet away. The likes of Gareth Bale, Petr Cech, Andre Schurrle and Brad Friedel also took on the challenge.
Bale was by far the best as he found the net on three occasions, while others on the list scored just once.
"I never played when I was growing up - we didn't have any basketball at school where I was in Scotland," he said.
"It was when I was I was spending a lot of time in America, when I was 19, 20 that I started to go along to a lot of the Miami Heat games.
"Me and a couple of my friends got some season tickets. We actually got very lucky. We bought the season tickets the day before [NBA superstar] LeBron James signed. Which is perfect timing. We've been fans for the last few years."
