Leander Paes and Andy Murray to face Jamie Murray in Rogers Cup
The British tennis ace, currently World No. 3, will play against his older brother Jamie at the Rogers Cup in Canada, a precursor to the hard-court U.S. Open at the end of August.
Andy, partnered by Indian tennis champion Leander Paes, will take on Jamie Murray and his Australian doubles partner John Peers following their first round victory over Jeremy Chardy of France, partnered by Kevin Anderson of South Africa, who is currently ranked 15th.
The elder Murray is in good nick going into the contest, having won the doubles title at the recently concluded Hamburg Open with partner Peers. The pair reached the final at Wimbledon earlier this year, losing out to Horia Tecau of Romania and his partner, France’s Jean-Julien Roger.
Andy is seeded second at the tournament and will play 22nd-ranked Tommy Robredo of Spain after receiving a first-round bye at the Rogers Cup.
