Andy Murray receives Nickelodeon Kids' Choice award, but gets slimed in the process
British tennis star Andy Murray proved that he possesses a good sense of humour at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, as he kept his spirits up despite getting completely drenched by green slime after the presentation of the award.
The reigning Wimbledon champion received an honorary award for his recent accomplishments and also for being a source of inspiration for children. The award was presented to him by UK host Jordan Banjo at a press conference in Miami, where Murray had lost to Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals of the prestigious Sony Open tournament
However, immediately after being given the award, Murray was grand-slammed with green goo by the Nickelodeon organizers. That didn’t dampen Murray’s enthusiasm though, as the 26-year-old served up a winning smile and signed off on a laughing note.
“I feel incredibly privileged to receive Nickelodeon’s UK History Maker Kids’ Choice Award at this year’s KCAs,” Murray said. “Getting slimed is definitely the most outrageous award acceptance I’ve ever done – it was pretty good fun.”
