Australian Open 2019, Quarter-final: Milos Raonic vs Lucas Pouille: Where to watch & live stream details
These are probably two players who nobody expected to reach the quarter-finals of the Australian Open 2019. However, both Milos Raonic and Lucas Pouille have defied the odds to reach this far in the tournament.
Now, one of them will have the opportunity to qualify for the semi-final as well, as they take on each other in the men's singles quarter-final encounter on January 23. Their match will take place after both the women's singles quarter-finals in the day session on Rod Laver Arena.
Raonic, who has been struggling with injuries of late, has put in superb performances in the tournament so far. Defeating the likes of Stan Wawrinka, Nick Kyrgios, and Alexander Zverev, the 28-year-old Canadian has been outstanding. His performance against Zverev was incredible as he defeated the world no. four 6-1, 6-1, 7-6(5) in the previous round.
Frenchman Pouille has been superb too. Surprisingly, this is the first time he went past the first round at the Australian Open. He defeated Mikhail Kukushkin, Maximilian Marterer, Alexei Popyrin, and Borna Coric to reach this far.
Raonic has had the better of Pouille all the three times they have met on tour. They have also played each other at the Australian Open, in 2016, with Raonic coming out on top in straight sets. Pouille is yet to win a set against the big-hitting Canadian.
