Australian Open 2019: Serena Williams vs Dayana Yastremska: Where to watch & live stream details
From cheering Serena Williams to an Australian Open title win from her home in Odessa, Ukraine's 18-year-old Dayana Yastremska will now face the biggest challenge of her fledgeling tennis career when she faces none other than the legendary American in the third round at Melbourne Park on Saturday.
It's a moment the teenager had been waiting for ever since she started playing tennis and will go on to be one that she will never forget. To earn this meeting with the 23-time Grand Slam champion, the youngster beat quality opponents such as Sam Stosur and Carla Suarez Navarro, which clearly shows that she really is one to watch out for in the future.
And the former junior Wimbledon runner-up further established it last fall when she won her maiden title at Hong Kong.
No matter how big an occasion this will be for her, she cannot expect the seven-time Australian Open winner to show some mercy. The 37-year-old has looked at her imperious best through the first couple of rounds, dropping just six games on her way to the Round of 32.
So far, the former World No. 1 has looked very much in the mood to add yet another Australian Open crown to her illustrious resume and it doesn't look like she will be stopping anytime soon.
