Belarus’ Victoria Azarenka hits a forehand to Russia’s Elena Vesnina during their French Open first round match at the Roland Garros stadium in Paris, on May 29, 2013. Azarenka has reached the second round with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Vesnina.

Third seed Victoria Azarenka reached the French Open second round on Wednesday with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Russia’s Elena Vesnina.

Australian Open champion Azarenka will face Germany’s Annika Beck, the 2012 junior champion, for a place in the last 32.
