Back injury restricts Roger Federer from competing in Montreal Masters
Roger Federer has opted out of next week’s Masters 1000 event in Montreal citing a recurring back injury.
“My main priority now is to fix my back. I am disappointed not to be playing in Montreal next week. It is a great tournament with amazing fans. I look forward to competing there in the future,” said Federer on his facebook page.
The 31-year-old had revealed last week that the back issue was getting pretty worse.
He said: “I’ve had serious problems with the back. I had to get some anti-inflammatories last week in Hamburg due to the pain. I will have to do a lot of exercises and see how it all feels.”
