Andrey Rublev vs Thiago Tirante preview
Defending champion and top seed Andrey Rublev will begin his campaign against Thiago Tirante of Argentina in the 2024 Nordea Open. Rublev's 2024 season has been a mixed bag so far. The Russian has a record of 24-12 for the season, with two titles in Hong Kong and Madrid. He defeated Emil Ruusuvuori and Felix Auger Aliassime in the finals of the two events.
Despite being the sixth seed at both the French Open and Wimbledon, Rublev suffered shocking losses in the initial rounds. He lost to Matteo Arnaldi in the third round of the French Open. The Russian had an even more upsetting loss at the hands of Francisco Comesana in the first round of the Wimbledon.
Rublev got a bye in the first round at the Nordea Open being the top seed.
Thiago Tirante is a player who is yet to establish himself on the ATP Tour. The Argentine player has made it to the main draws of a handful of events in 2024 and has played in only five main-draw matches in the season. The Argentine has mostly played in the Challenger events and the qualifiers of ATP events.
However, at the Nordea Open, Tirante got direct qualification. He won a tight three-set match against Portuguese qualifier Jamie Faria in the first round.

Thiago Tirante may not have a good record on the ATP Tour yet, but the Argentine has his best results on clay while playing at the Challenger events.
