Roger Federer wrote an emotional message for Dominic Thiem who retired at the Vienna Open. The Swiss star posted a picture of the two together and wrote a heartfelt caption for the image.
Federer congratulated Thiem on a great career that involved winning a US Open title. The Swiss maestro further added that Thiem was capable of playing on all surfaces and caused a lot of damage to his opponents with his backhand.
"An illustrious career comes to a close, Congratulations Domi. No matter the surface, you always found a way to beat me with your thunderous backhands But more importantly, you did it with grace and sportsmanship," Roger Federer wrote on Instagram.

Ben Shelton reacted to his fellow University of Florida alumni Grant Holloway being nominated for the Track Athlete of the Year 2024. Holloway will be competing with other men on the list for the illustrious award.
The winner from both the men's and the women's categories will be announced by the end of the year. Holloway enjoyed a great season in 2024, winning the gold medal in 110m hurdles at the Paris Olympics having won the silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 in the same event.
