Aryna Sabalenka vs Katie Boulter preview
Second seed Aryna Sabalenka will take on Katie Boulter in the third round of the Canadian Open.
After defending her title in Melbourne, Sabalenka looked forward to winning her first Major title on clay. The Belarusian outfoxed the likes of Emma Navarro and Paula Badosa en route to the quarterfinals, but couldn't get past Mirra Andreeva in Paris. The youngster outlasted her in three sets, 6-7(5), 4-6, 4-6. Sabalenka also came close to claiming the crown in Rome and Madrid, but Iga Swiatek stood in her way in both finals.
The 26-year-old was forced to miss Wimbledon due to a shoulder injury. She entered Toronto on the back of a promising semifinal run in Washington and started her campaign with a commanding win over Yue Yuan. Sabalenka outfoxed the Chinese player in straight sets.
Meanwhile, Katie Boulter has had an impressive season so far, garnering title-winning runs in San Diego and Nottingham. She defeated Karolina Pliskova in the finals of the Nottingham Open and successfully defended her title at the event.
The Brit entered Toronto on the back of early exits in Wimbledon and the Paris Olympics. She started her campaign with a confident win against Bernarda Pera and then brushed aside Beatriz Haddad Maia in the second round.

Aryna Sabalenka vs Katie Boulter prediction
With Iga Swiatek and Elena Rybakina away from the women's tour, Sabalenka will fancy her chances of doing the business in Toronto. The Belarusain secured a runner-up finish in New York last year and will be determined to leave no stone unturned this time around. She will be hoping to register a strong result in Toronto.
Boulter, on the contrary, is one of the most optmisitic players on the women's tour. Her never-say-die attitude and sensible all-around game have helped her overcome tough challenges this year. The Brit is close to securing a strong result and will test Sabalenka in the third round.
Considering their results this year and record in North America, Sabalenka will be a strong favorite to win this bout. If the Belarusian keeps a check on her erros and doesn't take her opponent lightly, she should be able to advance to continue her run in the Canadian Open.
Pick: Sabalenka to win in three-sets.
