Andrey Rublev vs Yunchaokete Bu preview
Fourth seed Andrey Rublev will look to keep his China Open campaign on track when he takes on home player Yanchaokete Bu in the quarterfinals. The Russian has had good momentum in 2024, having a 39-18 record in the season winning two titles at the Hong Kong Open and the Madrid Open. He last played at the US Open, losing to Grigor Dimitrov in five sets in the fourth round.
Rublev has performed well on hard courts, reaching the final of the Canadian Open losing to Alexei Popyrin. The World No. 6 remains the only player except Carlos Alcaraz to defeat the invincible-looking Jannik Sinner on the surface in Canada. At the China Open, the fourth seed defeated two Spanish opponents Pablo Carreno Busta and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina to advance to the quarterfinals.
Bu has only played seven matches on Tour this year, winning four. He recently reached the semifinals of the Hnagzhou Open, losing to fellow Chinese player Zhang Zhizhen. He defeated second-seeded Karen Khachanov in that event.
Bu received a wild card for the main draw at the China Open. He defeated the Chengdu Open champion Juncheng Shang in the first round and then caused an upset, winning against sixth-seeded Lorenzo Musetti to reach consecutive ATP Tour quarterfinals.

Andrey Rublev vs Yunchaokete Bu prediction
Rublev has a 65 percent win record on hard courts, reaching 15 finals on the surface and winning 10 titles. The last hard court title for the World No. 6 came at this year's Hong Kong Open when he defeated Emil Ruusuvuori in the final.
Bu has yet to reach a final on the ATP Tour, but the Chinese player has 6 ITF titles on the hard court. This year, he has won three hard-court titles on the Challenger Tour, winning two in China and Canada, beating Egor Gerasimoav and Terence Atmane respectively.
Being one of the top seeds, Rublev will be the favorite in the upcoming match, but given the Chinese player's recent run, it could go three sets.
Pick: Rublev to win in three sets
