Hubert Hurkacz vs Yoshihito Nishioka preview
Fifth seed Hubert Hurkacz will face Yoshihito Nishioka in the second round of the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati on Thursday, August 15.
The 27-year-old Pole has had a moderate season so far with a win-loss record of 36-15 and will look to make a deep run in Cincinnati. Hurkacz reached the quarterfinals at the recently concluded Canadian Open.
Prior to that, he lost in the second round at Wimbledon and reached the final at the Halle Open. Hurkacz also made it to the fourth round at the French Open.
Nishioka, meanwhile, won the third of his three career ATP titles in Atlanta this year. However, he has had an ordinary season so far otherwise with a win-loss record of 15-12. He lost in the first round at the French Open and the second round at Wimbledon.
Nishioka entered the main draw of the Cincinnati Masters following straight sets wins in the qualifiers before beating Miomir Kecmanovic 6-4, 7-5 in the first round.

Hubert Hurkacz vs Yoshihito Nishioka prediction
Hurkacz is one of the top players on the tour. He has a powerful serve and wonderful volleying skills, which make him a really formidable proposition against any player. Nishioka is a decent player but does not quite have the weapons to seriously trouble the Pole.
Hurkacz will hope to exploit the medium-fast conditions in Cincinnati with the help of his serve and volleys. Nishioka will have to exceed himself to make a match of it and will rely on his passing shots to keep the pressure on the Pole.
However, if Hurkacz plays even close to his potential, he should be able to win the match quite comfortably to move into the third round. The Japanese might struggle to take a set off him.
Pick: Hurkacz to win in straight sets.
