Colin Firth makes his presence at Wimbledon
We have seen many famous celebrities grace the All England Tennis Club in Wimbledon including the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and David Beckham. Tendulkar’s presence also indirectly invited a needless controversy when former World number 1 Maria Sharapova let a journalist know that she had no clue about the Indian icon.
Yesterday some famous names from Hollywood made their way in to the royal box including the famous British actor Colin Firth who was accompanied by his dad.
Also present were Eddie Redmayne and Sam Claflin and these three proved to the center of attraction. Colin who is an academy award winner (an award which he won for his performance in the critically acclaimed movie ‘The King’s Speech’) wore a neat black suit with a black tie and a nice white shirt.
Just a few days back, the trailer of his next movie ‘Before I Go To Sleep’ was released and it is said to be a psychological thriller. In the movie he is paired up with Nicole Kidman.
He has already made visits to Wimbledon before, most notably during the 2010 Men’s Singles Final between eventual Champion Rafael Nadal and Tomas Berdych.
This time around these stars lined up to watch the Women’s Singles Semi-final matches. Young Canadian sensation Eugenie Bouchard defeated Simona Halep 7-6, 6-2 to reach her maiden grand slam final. In the other semi-final, Luci Safarova was defeated by her country mate Petra Kvitova 7-6, 6-1.
Eugenie will be looking to continue her dream run for one final game and she will certainly be cheered on by Jim Parsons.
