After an intense week of sporting action, the 'World Cup of Tennis' will see its concluding chapter with the clash between the two best teams out of 18 competing nations.

The Davis Cup Finals in Madrid opened to a mixed response a week back, but it has garnered plenty of excitement over the last few days thanks to headlining performances by Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, the top two players in the world. It has been a week of surprise victories and shock defeats but in the end, the last two standing teams are Canada and the men from the host country, Spain.

Nadal has been the star for the Spanish team; it is his performances that have largely been responsible for anchoring the team to their 10th Davis Cup final. While the singles encounter in the semifinal was a cakewalk for the World No. 1, it came down once again to the deciding doubles rubber where he paired with Felicano Lopez to conquer Jaime Murray and Neal Skupski from Great Britain.

That result gave Spain a 2-1 win over Great Britain and booked their date with Team Canada, who will be playing their first-ever Davis Cup final.

The Caja Magica stadium has seen some brilliant performances from rising star Denis Shapovalov, who like Nadal has played in both singles and doubles. The week-long tournament has seen the Canadian side playing extremely well, powered by the blood of young NextGen players.

Shapovalov and Vasek Pospisil have combined together very well to get the better of their opponents. They were particularly good in the doubles match against Russia in the semifinals, where they defeated Karen Khachanov and Andrey Rublev in a third set tiebreaker.

Spain will not be an easy opponent at home, and with Nadal leading the charge it might even seem like an impossible task to beat them. But Shapovalov and Pospisil have been amazing in their own right, and an exciting encounter awaits the fans in Madrid tonight.
