Karolina Muchova vs Madison Keys preview
Karolina Muchova and Madison Keys came through dominant wins to book a quarterfinal showdown at the 2024 Eastbourne International.
Keys, the fourth seed at this year’s tournament, came through a 7-6(5), 6-1 win over Anhelina Kalinina in her last encounter. She had earlier received a bye in the opening round.
The American finds herself in the middle of a resurgent season, winning a title at Strasbourg and inching ever closer to a return to the top-10. The win over Kalinina also improved her season’s win-loss to an impressive 17-6.
Muchova, meanwhile, showed shockingly little rust in her first match of the season. She dropped just five games in her 6-4, 6-1 victory over Magda Linette. Her first-round encounter had ended with her opponent, Elina Avanesyan, retiring mid-match.
The Czech, a former Wimbledon quarterfinalist, loves playing on the grass and will look to build on her good start in the last stop before SW19.

Karolina Muchova vs Madison Keys prediction
Madison Keys’ game, built around a powerful serve and flat groundstrokes, is tailor-made for the low-bouncing grasscourts.
The American was in complete control of her opening match, wherein she fired nine aces and dropped her serve only once. She will once again step out looking to take control of the baseline and be the aggressor.
Karolina Muchova, meanwhile, relies on her all-court game and tennis IQ to win points. The Czech is more than capable of going toe-to-toe against most players from the baseline, but it’s her clever point construction that gets her opponents flustered.
However, the lack of match practice may be a cause of concern for Muchova. She showed flashes of her best tennis in the win over Linette, but sustaining that level over a longer period only comes with more hours on the court.
The Czech has all the weapons needed to win, but even the slightest of slips may cost her against an in-form Keys.
Pick: Keys to win in three sets.
