Former World No.4 Tim Henman Sunday said that his favourite tennis player undoubtedly is Swiss great and 17-time Grand Slam winner Roger Federer.
"I love Federer. When you see all aspects of him, on and off court, he commands respect both as a person and a player," said Henman on the sidelines of 'The Road To Wimbledon' Kolkata-leg at the South Club here.
"He is a great player and ambassador for the game and continues to grow strong with 17 Grand Slams already -- the best I have seen. After retirement he is going to be sorely missed." The Englishman described the present era as the "golden years of tennis" owing to the dominance of players like Serbian Novak Djokovic, Federer, Spaniard Rafael Nadal and compatriot Andy Murray.
The 40-year-old also said that the Nadal-Federer rivalry is now almost over with Nadal suffering a series of injuries.
"The rivalry has been done with. Nadal has been plagued with injuries and that has affected his game. I can't presently see this rivalry coming into the frame again with other players making the jump to the top perch," Henman added.
The four-time Wimbledon semi-finalist said he has no regrets regarding his career and was proud of what he has achieved.
