Daniil Medvedev vs Tomas Machac prediction
A tantalizing encounter awaits fans as Daniil Medvedev and Tomas Machac prepare to face off in the third round of the 2024 French Open.
Medvedev has seen patches of brilliance on the red dirt so far this season but has struggled to find overall consistency. He avoided a major hiccup in his first-round encounter in Paris but put up a much better showing in his second round.
Machac, meanwhile, has carried his good form from Geneva into Paris, sealing a couple of impressive wins so far. He showed great mental resolve to plow through his second-round five-set epic, closing it out in the final set with much ease.
We can expect an incredibly tight encounter between the pair given their similar styles of play. The winner could ultimately boil down to who serves better and takes the greater initiative on the return. Dictating play from the baseline, while keeping the points will also be in order.
Pick: Medvedev in four sets.
