Tommy Paul vs Pedro Cachin preview
Fourteenth seed Tommy Paul is slated to begin his 2024 French Open campaign against Pedro Cachin in the first round on Monday, May 27.
Paul brushed off a third-round defeat at the Australian Open by winning the title in Dallas and reaching the final in Delray Beach. He carried that good form into Indian Wells, where he went down to Daniil Medvedev in the last four despite winning the first set.
He kicked off his clay court swing in Madrid with a disappointing third-round loss to Francisco Cerundolo in a tight three-setter. He turned it up a notch in Rome the following week, reaching the semi-finals on the back of wins against Aslan Karatsev, Dominik Koepfer, Daniil Medvedev, and Hubert Hurkacz, before going down to Nicolas Jarry in another grueling three-setter.
Cachin, meanwhile, has won just two matches on the singles circuit so far this year. He lost his first ten matches on the bounce before registering his first victory against Sebastian Ofner in the first round of the Madrid Masters. He shocked Frances Tiafoe in the second round before going down to Rafael Nadal in three sets.
He heads into Paris on the back of a couple of opening-round defeats in Rome to Jan-Lennard Struff and in Lyon to Pavel Kotov.
Tommy Paul vs Pedro Cachin head-to-head

Tommy Paul vs Pedro Cachin prediction
Tommy Paul heads into his first encounter against Pedro Cachin a firm favourite given their respective forms on tour this season.
Paul is on a 19-8 match record so far this year. He's been a revelation on the clay, demonstrating incredible gameplay and composure on the surface. His attacking mindset has prompted him to come to the net more, and it has worked in his favor.
Cachin, meanwhile, has had a disappointing 2024 and will look to turn things around in Paris. He will have to be at his best, particularly on serve if he is to have a chance of beating Paul.
Pick: Tommy Paul to win in straight sets.
