French Open: Serena Williams left 'heartbroken' by Anisimova crying in the locker room
Serena WIlliams revealed on Thursday she was left 'heartbroken' after seeing 17-year-old Amanda Anisimova crying in the locker room following defeat to Anett Kontaveit at the Miami Open in March.
Anisimova, who becomes the youngest American woman to reach the last-32 at Roland-Garros since Serena Williams in 1998, has praised the 23-time Grand Slam winner for consoling her after that defeat in Florida, and for being an inspiration.
