Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Hamad Medjedovic
Top seed Stefanos Tsitispas will take on Hamad Medjedovic in the second round of the Swiss Open on Wednesday.
After a slow start to the season, Tsitispas rediscovered his form during the claycourt swing. He's chalked up 30 wins from 42 matches so far, including a title-winning run in Monte-Carlo and a second place finish in Barcelona. He also reached the quarterfinals in Paris, but lost to Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets.
The Greek will enter Gstaad on the back of a disappointing second round exit in Wimbledon. Despite a courageous effort against Emil Ruusuvuori, he fell to the Finn 7-6(6), 7-6(10), 3-6, 6-3.
Hamad Medjedovic, meanwhile, has played most of his tennis on the ATP Challenger circuit this season. He secured a main draw berth at the French Open, but came up shy in the qualifiers of the Australian Open and Wimbledon. Flavio Cobolli of Italy humbled him in the first round in Paris.
Medjedovic started his campaign in Gstaad with a hard fought win against Marc Andrea Huesler. He outmuscled the Swiss in three-sets, 6-7(3), 7-6(2), 6-3. The Serb will be keen to continue his run and present a stern challenge to Tsitispas.

Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Hamad Medjedovic prediction
Stefanos Tsitsipas hasn't really lived up to the bill this season. He was poised to make a solid run in London, but was stunned by Emil Ruusuvuori in the second round. The Greek is one of the most talented players on tour and will be keen build again ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Medjedovic, on the contrary, announced himself on tour with a remarkable title-triumph at the 2023 ATP Next Gen Finals. He defeated stubborn players such as Arthur Fils and Dominic Stricker to lift the title. The Serb has amassed three wins from his last four matches, including a comeback win against Huesler in Gstaad.
While Tsitsipas will be the heavy favourtie to win this bout, he will need to be wary of Medjedovic's speed and anticipation skills on court. The Greek might be in for a tricky battle against the youngster, but should be able to pass this test and continue his run in Gstaad.
Pick: Tsitsipas to win in three-sets.
