Jannik Sinner vs Fabian Marozsan preview
Top seed Jannik Sinner will lock horns with Fabian Marozsan in the second round of the 2024 Terra Wortmann Open on Thursday, June 20.
Sinner kicked off 2024 by lifting his first-ever Grand Slam at the Australian Open, beating Daniil Medvedev in a five-set epic. He went on to capture the crowns in Rotterdam and Miami. His clay court swing saw some great results but did not materialize into a trophy.
Sinner opened his campaign in Halle against an in-form Tallon Griekspoor. It was the Dutchman who got off to the better start, snagging the first set in the tie-breaker. A strong comeback from Sinner in sets two and three saw him eventually seal a 6-7(8), 6-3, 6-2 win.
Marozsan, meanwhile, opened his 2024 campaign with a third-round finish at the Australian Open. After a series of early defeats, he made the fourth round in Indian Wells and the quarterfinals in Miami. He had a subdued clay court swing with his best result coming in Barcelona where he reached the third round.
Marozsan kicked off his grass-court swing in Stuttgart last week, going down in his opener to Hamad Medjedovic in a three-set contest. He opened his campaign in Halle against Roman Safiullin, toppling him 7-5, 4-6, 6-1.

Jannik Sinner vs Fabian Marozsan prediction
Jannik Sinner heads into the match with Fabian Marozsan the firm favorite to make it through.
Sinner has seen a rich vein of form all season which has seen him rise to the pinnacle of men's tennis. His form on the grass looks equally scary despite the initial rust. He played some lights-out tennis after going down in the first set in his Halle opener, proving why he's a serious force to reckon with on the grass.
Marozon on the contrary has been marred by inconsistency on the grass so far and barely scrapped through his opener in Halle. While he was fairly good on serve, he lacked the zeal from the back of the court and scarcely approached the net.
Sinner should comfortably make it through this encounter given how the two players are currently going. It will require a monumental effort from the Hungarian if he is to seal the win.
Pick: Sinner in straight sets
