Tennis stars like Ben Shelton and others have given their take on the race for the American presidency which Donald Trump has seemingly won. At the time of writing, Trump was closing in on the majority 270-point mark and set to be re-elected as the American President.

Throughout his election, many tennis stars supported either Trump or Kamala Harris. Tennis stars of the past like Raenne Stubbs and Martina Navratilova endorsed Kamala Harris while Coco Gauff showed her support for the President-elect as well. On the other hand, Trump had the support of major social media figures like Elon Musk and Joe Rogan.

Here is how the tennis fraternity reacted to the ongoing American Presidential election.


#1 Ben Shelton

Ben Shelton posted a cryptic picture on his Instagram story before the election results came out. The American star reposted a quote on his story showing his faith in god before the election results.

"No matter who is president Jesus is king," Ben Shelton posted.

Shelton had previously advocated for Kamala Harris during the elections with a post in favor of her.


#2 Rennae Stubbs

The former WTA star Rennae Stubbs has been vocal against Donald Trump and supported Kamala Harris throughout the American election. After the election, Stubbs could not hide her disbelief and took to Twitter to show her feelings.

Stubbs could not believe this was a close election as she expected Harris to win by a landslide. The former World No. 1 further showed her amusement towards the Hispanic community who had voted for Trump, given his reported statements against them:

"The fact this is close is unbelievable! The fact that Hispanics are voting for a man that would rather throw them out of the country is unbelievable."

#3 Coco Gauff

Coco Gauff is another tennis star who has been vocal in support of Kamala Harris during the Presidential elections. The American star urged her followers to go out and vote through her TikTok account and engaged in a humorous conversation with one of her followers.

One commenter on Gauff's video said they wrote Gauff's name as the President during the election. The American tennis star was quick to reply saying that she hoped it was a joke.

ā€œI wrote your name in for president queen,ā€ the fan commented.
ā€œIā€™m hoping this is a joke," Gauff replied.

#4 Martina Navratilova

Martina Navratilova is one of Kamala Harris's most vocal supporters. The former WTA star sided with Harris throughout the election campaign and took to Twitter to vent her frustration after the results.

Reports emerged about voting being suspended in some parts of America due to bomb threats. Navratilova aimed at the Republicans and claimed that they were behind these threats. The former tennis stars tweeted that "right-wingers" are trying their best to win the election using unfair ways.

"Effing right wingers trying all the tricks," Navratilova tweeted.

#5 Alexis Ohanian

Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian conceded defeat on Twitter after Donald Trump was on the verge of winning the American election. The business tycoon has been vocal in support of Kamala Harris throughout the election campaign but posted a cryptic message after Trump emerged victorious.

Ohanian and his wife Serena have both opposed Trump's policies and urged voters to cast their vote for Harris. However, with Trump set to be re-elected as the president of the United States, Ohanian tweeted:

"Lots to learn from this election."
