Martina Navratilova once expressed that, while she doesn’t follow any specific religion, she believes in a higher power and sees God as a singular, universal force. She also mentioned that she doesn’t attend church or engage in formal prayer.

The Czech-born American said in 2003 during an interview with The New York Times:
"I'm not any religion. I don't know if my mother is Catholic or not. But I believe in the existence of a higher power. I believe there is one big God out there. I don't go to church. It's how you behave in life, not whether you go to church and pray, that makes you a worthy human being."
