Iga Swiatek's Roger Federer-backed On, Frances Tiafoe & Aryna Sabalenka's Nike, Jessica Pegula's Adidas & more: What are the outfits turning heads in US Open 2024 QF
The likes of Iga Swiatek, Jessica Pegula, and Frances Tiafoe have impressed tennis fans not just with their impressive runs at the 2024 US Open, but also their on-court looks. The trio, represented by three distinct brands, are among those turning heads with their New York looks.
The rest of the quarterfinalists, meanwhile, have also aced some classic tennis core looks over the last week.
As we head into the business end of the tournament, here are some of the standout on-court looks from this year’s US Open:
Iga Swiatek's Roger Federer-backed On apparel
Two big names started the 2024 US Open wearing the latest collection by the Roger Federer-backed On. Those were former champion and World No. 1 Iga Swiatek and last year’s semifinalist Ben Shelton.
While the American came up short in the third round against compatriot Frances Tiafoe, Swiatek has fought her way into the quarterfinals.
Both players were wearing the new blue, white, and pink gradient design of the apparel’s New York line, which features sleeveless tops with matching bottoms and shoes. Swiatek has paired the look with both white and bright pink-colored hats over the course of the tournament.
Frances Tiafoe and others’ Nike; Aryna Sabalenka gets a US Open custom
Nike went big on pink for the 2024 US Open, with multiple outfits featuring the color. Frances Tiafoe wore the brand’s lavender sleeveless top with bright pink embellishments and matching shorts.
Other men’s players, including the likes of Jack Draper, have opted for multiple shades of pink t-shirts, pairing them variously with the white and black Nike shorts.
A day-and-night theme is writ large over the collection, with fuchsia and purple shades with a mossy green color to go along with it. Paula Badosa and Zheng Qinwen have opted for the latter option more often than others.
Aryna Sabalenka, meanwhile, has worn a custom outfit. While the silhouettes are similar to the wider collection, she has been wearing a darker shade of black during all of her night matches at this year’s US Open.
Jessica Pegula's Adidas cutouts and colorblocks
Adidas took a risk with its women’s line at this year’s US Open, opting for bold cutouts and full-sleeves. The Fall Slam Pro Wow Dress’ standout elements are the armpit cutouts in the front and the pleated dress, as worn by Jessica Pegula.
While the brand stuck to its distinctive color-block pattern with purple, white, and black being the dominant shades, the skirt has pleats only on the sides, and the full sleeves stand out even more given the striking colorblocks.
It has more conservative options as well, including a sleeveless racerback outfit and separates, as seen worn by Karolina Muchova during her ongoing run at the US Open.
Alexander Zverev, meanwhile, has opted for the brand’s Men’s Fall Slam Pro Freelift Crew with matching shorts.
Daniil Medvedev and Grigor Dimitrov's Lacoste classic
Lacoste stayed true to its classic route when it comes to men’s collection, offering a range of Polos and matching shorts for its players.
Foremost among the brand’s faces is Grigor Dimitrov, who chose a lime-colored polo, pairing it with white shorts and a matching cap. The color has worked well visually in the backdrop of the blue hardcourt.
Daniil Medvedev, meanwhile, has a custom ensemble with another classic polo in white with blue and green highlights.
Emma Navarro's Fila green-and-white
Fila also chose to stick with the traditional tennis look, opting for a lot of pleats and classic collars. While many of the athletes wearing the brand started the 2024 US Open draw, only one representative has made it to the quarterfinals, in Emma Navarro.
The American, who recently took down defending champion Coco Gauff, has chosen a classic white-and-green combination.
Navarro has worn a green-colored white sleeveless crop top with a white pleated skirt, that features a green waistband, throughout her impressive run.
