World Number 2 Novak Djokovic may visit India following his country being drawn to face India in the World Group Play-offs, the winner of which will play in the World Group next year.

The playoffs will be held between 12 -14 September which will see India hosting Serbia, and this could very well see the 6-time Grand Slam champion make his first appearance in the country.

The Indian Davis cup team set up the encounter against Bogdan Obradovic-led Serbia after edging out South Korea  in the second round fixture of the Group I Asia/Oceania zone at Busan with a memorable win.

India will be hoping to put up a good fight against the Serbs who will look to maintain their presence in the World Group. This will be their second meeting in three years;the last time these two met was in a World Group first round tie in 2011 at Novi Sad where it finished 4-1 in favour of the home side.

Serbia have been absentees from the zonal competition since 2007 which was the same year that they ensured top tier status for the first time after seeing out the Australians in the World Group play-offs.

Australia, USA and Canada will be hosting Uzbekistan, the Slovak Republic and Colombia respectively, in the other match-ups. The Dutch are set to host Croatia in a draw decided by lots, while Belgium will travel to Ukraine for their match.

Elsewhere, 5-time champions Spain travel to Brazil and Argentina will play their away tie against Israel. Both face a backs-to-the-wall job as both of them need to register wins in order to stay in their groups.
