Infographic: 2013 Wimbledon Tennis Championship

The 2013 Wimbledon is the 127th edition of the prestigious Grand Slam tournament.

It is the oldest Grand Slam and is considered to be Holy Grail for any tennis player.

Roger Federer and Serena Williams will be defending their crowns in this year’s tournament as both won the men’s singles and women’s singles competition in 2012,  respectively.

Some of the contenders for Roger Federer’s throne are Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, David Ferrer and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

Meanwhile, Serena will have to cast off the likes of Maria Sharapova and Petra Kvitova in order to regain her crown.

Rafael Nadal, on the back of his triumph at Roland Garros, has been shockingly eliminated at the hands of  Steve Darcis in the first round of the tournament.

Victoria Azarenka, second seed in the women’s competition, pulled out of the tournament due to an injury sustained in her first round match.
