Italian Open: 'I'm finally adapting to clay' World No.1 Osaka after reaching quarter-finals
World number one Naomi Osaka reacted to her third round straight sets victory over Mihaela Buzarnescu by confessing she is 'finally adapting to clay.'
Osaka moved comfortably into her first Italian Open quarter-final with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Buzarnescu in Rome.
The two time Grand Slam winner dropped only two points on serve during the first set.
Prior to this year, Osaka had never made the last eight of any WTA-level clay tournament, but has already reached the Stuttgart semi-finals and Madrid quarter-finals in 2019.
