Italian Open: Kyrgios disqualified after throwing chair during Rome Open match against Ruud
Nick Kyrgios has been involved in fresh controversy after he was disqualified from his Rome Open second round match on Thursday.

The Australian sent a forehand wide to hand a break back to Casper Ruud early in the third set at 1-1, after Kyrgios had responded to losing the first set 6-3 with victory in the second set tie-break.

Kyrgios vented his frustration towards the crowd and chair umpire, and proceeded to throw his tennis racket to the ground.

The 24-year-old then kicked over a water bottle and threw a chair stool onto the tennis court.

Kyrgios had received multiple code violations earlier in the match and the umpire handed him a game penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct.

After throwing the chair, he then packed his bag and walked off the court, which led to him being defaulted from the match.
