Juan Martín del Potro pulls out of French Open
Juan Martín del Potro has pulled out of the French Open, Sky Sports has confirmed.
The Argentinian has enjoyed reasonable success at this Grand Slam, reaching the semi finals in 2009 but losing to eventual winner Roger Federer. In 2011, he reached the quarter-finals, again facing Federer. He went two sets up but eventually lost the match after a thrilling performance from the Swiss.
This comes as a major blow to the organisers of the event after it was confirmed earlier in the week that Scotsman Andy Murray was to pull out, too.
