Lacko to clash against Dodig in Tashkent

Tashkent - Top seeded Lukas Lacko of Slovakia will clash with fifth seeded Ivan Dodig of Croatia while Czech Jan Mertl will take on Uladzimir Ignatik of Belarus in the semifinals of the $125,000 Tashkent ATP Challenger at the Olympic Tennis School here.

In the quarterfinals played Friday, top seeded Lacko disposed off Israel’s Amir Weintraub 6-2, 6-4 in just over an hour.

Fifth seed Ivan Dodig upset third seeded Israeli Dudi Sela 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 in two hours and five minutes.

In the lower half of the draw, Czech player Jan Mertl won 6-4, 6-4 over Dusan Lajovic in one hour and 33 minutes.

Uladzimir Ignatik of Belarus ended the local challenge edging past wildcard entrant Farrukh Dustov 6-4, 5-7, 7-6(2) in a two hour 45 minute battle.
