Lyon Open 2023 Day 7: Women's singles prediction ft. Alycia Parks vs Danka Kovinic and Caroline Garcia vs Jasmine Paolini
The women's singles quarterfinals of the ongoing Lyon Open 2023 will take place on the 7th day of the tournament on Friday, February 3.
Seventh-seeded Danka Kovinic will take on Alycia Parks. This will be followed by a match between the fifth-seeded Anastasia Potapova taking on Maryna Zanevska from Belgium. Later in the day, top-seeded Caroline Garcia will take on Jasmine Paolini in the quarterfinals. The last match of the day will be between two promising talents, Camilo Osorio and Linda Noskova.

Danka Kovinic has been putting in the hard yards lately to find her best form in the last few months.The Montenegrin tennis player entered France on the back of a semifinals run at the 2023 Auckland Open and a first-round exit at the Australian Open. Kovinic is most recently coming off a stunning comeback win over the Hungarian Bondar in three sets 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.
Alycia Parks, on the other hand, entered the Lyon Open on the back of title-winning runs at the WTA 125 Andorra Open and the WTA 125 Open d'Angers. She began her campaign in France with a hard-fought win over Julia Grabher in the first round and then outlasted Croatian Petra Martic in the second.
Danka Kovinic and Alycia Parks have never faced each other on the main tour. As the higher ranked player, Kovinic will be the favorite going into the contest.

#2. Anastasia Potapova vs Maryna Zanevska
World No. 43 Potapova scored a second straight three-set win over France’s Clara Burel in the second round on Thursday. She is coming off a very good 2022 season where she won her maiden WTA title in Istanbul and finished runner-up in Prague.
Meanwhile Zanevska stunned the second seed and defending champion Zhang Shuai in straight sets in the 2nd round. Zanevska struggled for the most part in 2022 but finished the season well, winning her first-ever WTA 125 title in Rouen.
Potapovea has been in good form and the fifth seed will be eyeing a spot in the semifinals, having to beat a spirited Zanevska to get there.

#3. Lyon Open top seed Caroline Garcia vs Jasmine Paolini
An exciting contest is on the cards as two in-form players battle it out for a place in the semifinals of the Lyon Open 2023.
Caroline Garcia began her campaign at the Lyon Open with a win against Tereza Martincova and then secured a stunning comeback victory over Alison Van Uytvanck in the second. The Spaniard defeated Belgian Uytvanck in three sets 2-6, 6-0, 6-1.
Jasmine Paolini began her campaign at the Lyon Open with a commanding victory over Rebeka Masarova in the first round followed by a dominating win against Erika Andreeva, winning both matches in straight sets.
Garcia comes into this contest as the most experienced and highest-ranked player and enjoys a 3-0 record against Paolini, although the Italian could cause some problems for Garcia given her form.

#4. Camilo Osorio vs Linda Noskova.
The final quarterfinal will see a clash between Camilo Osorio and Linda Noskova. Both players are trying to make a mark on the WTA tour. Osorio won the 2021 Copa Colsanitas and Noskova became the youngest player to break into the Top 100, a distinction Coco Gauff previously held.
Osario began her campaign in France with hard-fought wins in both the rounds. Noskova, on the other hand, is having a dream run coming through the qualifier rounds, winning all her matches in straight sets.
Noskova will face stiff competition from Osario in the quarterfinals of Lyon Open and look to continue her meteoric run.
