Roger Federer produces magic again at the US Open

Roger Federer

Roger Federer had the perfect warm up for the US Open by winning the Cincinnati Masters. He looks to have started right where he left off. A convincing win in the first round over Marinko Matosevic was followed by another routine victory over Sam Groth in the second. The Swiss won his encounter 6-4, 6-4, 6-4. An interesting stat of the match was that Federer won 90 percent of the points when the score was 30-30 or deuce. The stat proves his ability to keep his calm and win points at crucial stages of the game.

Although it is still early days, Federer has shown promising signs to pick up his 18th Grand Slam title.

Federer makes the most difficult shots look like a piece of cake. After his unbelievable tweener in the first round, Federer produces another moment for fans to remember.

Federer, playing with a new racquet since the start of the year, has now been wearing new shoes, designed with the help of NBA legend Michael Jordan. He spoke about the shoes after his victory over Groth.
