Murray's career isn't over yet - Bob Bryan

Andy Murray can still continue playing in professional tennis, according to American doubles legend Bob Bryan.

Last Friday, Murray announced at a press conference days before the Australian Open was about to begin that he had retirement plans in place.

The retirement plans were put in place for this year in which the three time Grand Slam champion would like to retire at Wimbledon in the summer.

On Monday, Murray took to the court for the first time after his retirement announcement where he was knocked out by Roberto Bautista Agut in a thrilling five setter.

Whether or not it will be Murray's final match in his tennis professional career remains to be seen.

But this week Bob Bryan has come out and said that he believes the Briton should not hang up his racket just yet.

Bryan has recently recovered from hip surgery himself that was done last year. The American played alongside his brother, Mike Bryan, at the Australian Open on Wednesday with a win.

Murray told BBC Sport earlier this week that he has two choices going forward.

The first option for Murray is to retire at Wimbledon or go with the second option of having another hip operation in an attempt to recover from his current battle with a painful hip.

It is believed both Murray and Bryan have been in regular contact.

After coming back with a win on Wednesday, Bob shared with the press his current state after recovering from hip surgery.

"I feel great, quality of life is great, practises are going well," he said.

"Maybe I'm not 100% yet, but I'm only five months since surgery. The doctors said it will be more like seven or eight months until you feel perfect.

"Until I feel that, I can't give you the guarantee, but I think he's to the point where this is probably his last option.

"I never once told him this is the way to go because singles is a different monster.

"Those guys are sliding around, killing themselves for four hours. Who knows if this joint would hold up.

"Will you have the explosiveness to be quick on the singles court? If you don't have that, you'll be exposed.

"But I would love to see him do it just for quality of life. You can sleep, walk, be with your kids, play."
