Nadal corrects himself after tweeting about Nelson Mandela's death
Rafael Nadal, when not creating history in Tennis, is often seen tweeting or posting updates on social networking websites like Twitter and Facebook.
He is always quick to post updates and engages regularly with his fans.
It seems one of his followers wrongly informed him that social activist Nelson Mandela had passed away. Rafa tweeted about the news, but once he realized it was a mistake, he was prompt enough to correct it.
He deleted the tweet and tweeted in Spanish,
Tenía información equivocada y por ahora #NelsonMandela no nos ha dejado. Ojalá este con nosotros mucho tiempo, lo que hizo estará siempre.
— Rafa Nadal (@RafaelNadal) June 10, 2013
for which the English translation would be,
“I had wrong information and now know #NelsonMandela has not left us. I wish him to be with us a long time. What he did will always be.”
Nelson Mandela was recently admitted to the hospital. The former South Africa president is 94 years old and in very critical condition.
