Nadal nominated for 2 ESPY awards
For those who don't know, ESPY stands for Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Awards which are given by the American cable network ESPN in the field of sports internationally and sports wise, recognising outstanding performances by the athletes in their respective fields and for their respective teams or countries. Rafael Nadal has been nominated under two categories this year which are- Best Male Tennis player along with Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray and best International Athlete along with Sebastian Vettel for Formula 1, Inbee Park for Women’s Golf and Cristiano Ronaldo for Soccer.
Last year the award for Best Male Tennis Player was bagged by Novak Djokovic and Best International Athlete was awarded to LeBron James of Miami heat.
Only recently Nadal tweeted his happiness on being nominated for the two prestigious awards.

Yesterday Nadal defeated Lucas Rosol to avoid the upset that happened in 2012. He has now progressed to the third round of the Wimbledon and will now face Mikhail Kukushkin. Nadal hit a sensational winner against Rosol which helped his cause in advancing to the third round.
